This months featured project is a basement remodel for our clients located in Milton, Georgia. Our clients had an existing basement that they wanted to update and add some architectural features to. We developed a plan that would include bringing more light into the basement by adding some large sliding doors that would lead out to the pool area. These doors were 14 feet wide by 8 feet tall and involved removal and reinstallation of the brick on the outside of the house and the addition of an I-Beam to support the 2nd and 3rd floor. This process was complex as we had to provide support while creating the opening for the door. We also removed the old entry door and installed a twin window unit to ensure there were not two doors adjacent to one another. We saved the existing bar, painted the cabinets, installed new countertops, sink and faucet. All areas received new paint, thin brick accents, and LVP flooring. Other accents were added to create interest to the space included cedar beams, shiplap wall paneling a large custom built barn door, drink rails and light fixtures. The space turned out fantastic and the homeowners and their family really enjoy it.
