The Vision

The Westcott family envisioned a modern farmhouse-inspired kitchen that seamlessly integrated their home’s architectural charm with upgraded functionality and style. Our goal was to create a space that not only delivered on aesthetics but also elevated their day-to-day living experience.

Design Highlights

Cabinetry & Storage Solutions:
The kitchen features custom full-height shaker-style cabinets painted in Sherwin-Williams Snowbound, offering a clean and timeless look. Cabinet hardware, a mix of polished nickel and matte black pulls from Top Knobs, provides the perfect balance of subtle sophistication. Functional upgrades, including pull-out spice racks, tray dividers, adjustable rollout shelves, and a peg system for plates and bowls, ensure every inch of storage is practical and easily accessible.

Countertops & Backsplash:
The countertops, made from honed Absolute Black granite, exude understated elegance. A white handmade tile backsplash, arranged in a horizontal grid pattern, ties together the kitchen’s clean and polished design.

Lighting Fixtures:
Carefully selected aged iron and white plaster pendant lights illuminate the kitchen island, while matching sconces over the sink provide additional task lighting. A statement chandelier in the breakfast area adds a stunning focal point to the adjacent dining nook.

Ceiling Beams & Shiplap Details:
Rough-sawn cedar beams with mitered corners bring warmth and texture to the space, complementing the vertical shiplap details on the custom wood range hood. The breakfast area ceiling boasts white-painted shiplap, enhancing the home’s rustic charm.

Functional Upgrades

High-Performance Appliances:
The kitchen now boasts state-of-the-art appliances, including a 48” Wolf dual-fuel range, Cove panel-ready dishwasher, and Sub-Zero column refrigerator and freezer units. The inclusion of a U-Line under-counter ice maker and Sub-Zero beverage cooler enhances the family’s entertaining capabilities.

Plumbing Fixtures:
The standout Kohler farmhouse sink is paired with a Brizo Artesso touch faucet and pot filler, both finished in polished nickel. Additional upgrades include a hot water dispenser and soap dispenser for everyday convenience.

Custom Features:
A beverage center with open stained shelving provides a dedicated space for drinks and glassware, while the large central island, with its integrated Sillite outlets and seating, serves as the heart of the kitchen. The stained drip rail beneath the sink and shiplap cladding on the island add thoughtful design touches.

Craftsmanship at Every Stage

The project began with demolition, removing the original pantry closet and gutting the kitchen to the drywall. New framing accommodated a more open layout, and wing walls were added as part of the reconfiguration. Our team refinished the existing hardwood floors in a custom stain selected by the family, ensuring continuity throughout the space.
