Transforming a Basement into a Luxurious Living Space

This project transformed an underutilized area into a stunning and versatile living space, showcasing our expertise in design and construction.
The Vision
The Barquins envisioned a basement that would serve as an extension of their home, offering areas for relaxation, entertainment, and practicality. The goal was to create a cohesive space that felt connected to the rest of the house while maintaining distinct areas for different activities. The renovation included a family room, wine room, gym, office, powder room, and bar, each thoughtfully designed to meet the needs and style preferences of our clients.
The Family Room
The family room is the heart of this remodeled basement. We started by installing Coretec Pro Enhanced Pembroke Pine LVP flooring, which provides durability and a warm, inviting look. The walls were painted in Pure White SW 7005, creating a bright and airy atmosphere. The ceiling was enhanced with cedar-wrapped beams, adding a touch of rustic elegance.
One of the standout features is the large iron doors, which open up to the backyard, allowing natural light to flood the room and providing seamless indoor-outdoor living. The triple 16″ LVL beams ensured the structural integrity of this expansive opening.
The Bar Area
Adjacent to the family room is the bar area, a perfect spot for entertaining. We installed prefabricated shaker gray cabinets, offering ample storage with a sleek, modern look. The countertops are Calacatta Laza Quartz, known for their beautiful veining and durability. For the backsplash, we chose the Versailles Parquet Urban White, adding texture and visual interest.
The bar is equipped with Restoration Hardware Vintage French Farmhouse Pendants, which provide stylish and functional lighting. We also installed a bar sink and faucet, making this space as practical as it is beautiful.
The Wine Room
The wine room is a true showstopper, designed for both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The space features floor-to-ceiling wine racks that can hold an impressive collection of bottles. The walls and ceiling were also finished with Pure White SW 7005 paint, creating a clean backdrop that allows the wine collection to take center stage. Recessed lighting and dedicated circuits ensure proper illumination and climate control for the wine storage.
The Gym
For the gym, we opted for rubber flooring, providing a safe and practical surface for workouts. The space is equipped with recessed lighting and a large wall mirror to enhance the functionality and visual appeal of the room. The clean lines and minimalist design make it a motivating environment for fitness.
